UIL SOCIAL STUDIES
Dear Ms. Barker and Ms. Bedwell,
UIL COMPUTER APPLICATIONS
Ms. Tarrant-
Last year, I emailed you when we got home from our Regional meet. My first student to ever qualify for regional had finished a disappointing 10th, and though she was just a freshman, she was very dissatisfied. So, we emailed you and asked you what we could do, purchase, etc., to do better this year. We purchased all you had to sell from Hexco and went through it diligently. Although, I never got to formally introduce myself to you last week, we were at the state meet!!! Not only did my student from last year qualify, but my son, qualified too.
I want to applaud you for how well the state meet is run. We were thrilled to be there and sit amongst all the other qualifiers. My students loved the coaches meeting where they could give you feedback on the tests for the year. They thought the verification time was VERY interesting, and were glad the graders scored their papers perfectly, so they didn’t have to argue for points. I can’t imagine the time it takes to you to create these tests and organize everything so well, but it is appreciated. I wish Austin wasn’t at the other end of the state so I could take part in the various conferences.
Before leaving Austin, both of my students made a plan for next year and what we needed to work on. I’m excited they have the fire to keep working and hopefully get back to State. I’m so thankful for contests, such as Computer Apps, to teach such important skills to students that will last them a lifetime.

Hi Noel (et al),
I received your handwritten note along with my order last month, and I just wanted to say thanks, and especially thanks for the extras! How nice that you recognized my name.
