Spell Buddy and Spell Buddy Coach's Manuals
Spell Buddy provides teachers and students with a time-tested word list separated by grade level, so students can learn spelling all year round and not just the UIL list! This product is ideal for spelling word clubs or for having your own "mock" spelling bees, since one book can be given to every student and word lists can be easily assigned. A "Spelling Schedule" is included in every book, and any book can be completed in 20 assignments. Once a student has learned all the words in his or her Spell Buddy, a teacher or parent can place a star near that assignment with their initials. Spell Buddy books are perfectly sized at 6"X9" and can fit in to a backpack.
These books are professionally-printed and not comb-bound, something your students will be proud to study! If you feel that any student needs words that are more challenging, simply order copies of the next grade level up!
Note: For books and software containing the annual UIL spelling words, use our Spelling Complement or Spelling eMentor. The Coaches Manual contains sentences and is recommended for coaches or teachers who wish to host their own spelling bees.

Words in this product are considered to be good, vocabulary enriching words and can help you methodically grow your student or child's word bank. Each book contains words that have been ferreted, swapped, and shared among spellers, parents, coaches, and teachers for decades and there are no duplicates, although forms of certain words are repeated on occasion.
Which volume should I buy? If you have a beginning speller, we recommend starting with your own grade level; intermediate to advanced spellers may prefer to start with a higher grade level volume.

Recommended for: general UIL word knowledge (this product does not contain the annual UIL spelling list), vocabulary enhancement, school spelling bee clubs, National Spelling Bee or classroom bees (in addition to the annual list from Scripps), and other spelling competitions.
Good spelling improves SAT scores (critical for college enrollment) and as we recommend a word foundation of at least 10,000 words, Spell Buddy can pave the way to help reach this goal starting with beginner words and working up to advanced level words in the 6th-8th grade products (total count of all Spell Buddy products is 8,000 words).
